4 month shots today

Poor Cambry had to get her four month shots today. It was so sad. She got a shot in each leg. But she was such a big girl. Cambry didn't even cry or flinch for the first one. She certainly did for the second one though. Mommy couldn't watch. I held her but I couldn't watch the shots. Even though I work at a vet clinic and see animals get shots all day, I just can't watch it when its my baby girl. She also had her well check today. She now weighs 14lbs 6oz!! Wow. And she is 26in long. Thats off the charts. The average is 23-25in. The doctor said that she is very advanced in her self support. She has great head control and core control. The doctor says that most babies can't sit alone for very long periods of time until their about 6 months and even then its still pretty unstable. So the fact that she can sit with no support for about a minute is really advanced. Her weight is good. And she said we can start feeding her about 1-2 tablespoons of cereal a day. I'm excited to try. She said to do single grain cereal for about 2 weeks then we start doing other kinds. And at about 6 months she can start having pureed foods. We have to just start with single ingredient foods, like the veggies and fruits. And we need to be persistant about getting her to eat each one. We may have to keep trying the ones she doesn't like much over and over until she develops a liking for it. Otherwise, we'll end up with a very picky eater if we just give up at the first sign of dislike. So, we've got quite a challenge ahead of us. But I'm excited for it. It was so good to hear that we are doing a good job at taking care of Cambry and that she is healthy!!

  1. My mom turned my sister orange when she was a baby! All she would eat was squash and carrots. She's still insanely picky today, even though she's almost 30 lol
